I went back to work earlier than I was suppose to after my baby was born and choose to work whenever I can because of the exact hardships you mentioned about being a “stay-at-home” mom. Work is actually my escape from it. I was going crazy from it, and couldn’t do it anymore. The great thing is that my mom watches my baby, so there is no trust or guilt issue for leaving my child to go to work. Plus, I have to work because my daughter has a deadbeat father, but if he were supporting us, I still would work because I find the stay-at-home-with-my-kid thing way more difficult than working.
